Nah,Im just pissed as for the last 2 years my local Ford dealer has told me "Yes" the RS will be coming here,and again,it didnt.
Makes sense though that in time since the platforms here allready,it might show itself eventually.
And also....my Gripe initially was:
It looks like a Toyota Vibe from the side.
Just not a fan till I can see one in person.

Im going to have to say the Focus looks MUCH hotter then the Vibe.

Yes.

I'm thrilled that Ford finally got religion and had the Europeans lead the design of the new Focus. I'm also thrilled that they will be selling the same care in the USA instead of kludging stuff.

The let down is the design is just too "busy" for my taste. It lacks the clean lines of say an Opel Astra or an Audi A3. The rear light cluster on the hatchback and the way it sticks around the side is particularly egregious.

I would not mind as much if it were distinctive in the way the original Focus stood apart from anything else when it was launched. But this version is pretty much "Me too" in terms of a design language. A few creases here and a finny type grill there and you have a rebaked Mazda 3 or any other generic car for this segment.

I know to some extent it is wishful thinking but I had hoped that Ford would have strived to set a new design tone or direction. Perhaps something like this:

I'm curious if it is just me, but the interior also looks awfully busy too. Can anyone else comment ?


I've no doubt it will sell well and truth be told if it performs well I'll probably end up getting one in 2 or 3 years time when we need a replacement for our trusty 1st generation workhorse. Its just I wish it would set my heart beating faster the same way the first ZX5 I saw did.

i think i'm in shock, and i think i'm in love...... no high mount tials is fine by me now that ive seen the back of teh hatch. it still looks stunning! and i'm digging the 18" wheels they threw on that red 5 door. i could honestly care lsee if the offereed a three door. i already have my three door and i'm keeping it. but that new 5 door has a home for it right next to my zx3.

as for the interior. i musre the amount of polish they put on all that will get drawn down for a production version. i think they spent a good 2 days detailing this for the show. and as long as everything is easy to find on the console i'm goods.

Ok, here's what I don't like about it:

The front corners of the car don't flow;
- They have a bunch of seemingly random body lines that don't match up to each other or anything else
- The front fender line still fades into the bumper (I hated that about older Gen Foci too)
- The front and rear fender lines look totally different, like they were from two different plans fused together
- The hood looks like it's from a Kia Rio

Too bad there is not a 3dr or 2 door hatch or will they release one but not pictured here. I just like two door vehicles.

Yep, you are right. But I think it looks great except rear lights.
But I don't care about exterior (any hatchabck is ugly to me, I drive hatchback because I don't have money for coupe) the problem is interior which I don't like. I hope it will look better in person..
