You are welcome and thank you for the compliment. I am enjoying my Focus big time, with 50,000km (31,000 miles) driven and all problem free. And yes I enjoy it as much today as when I first drove it off the lot. I am originally from Canada and have experience with the Focus on that side of the pond as well. I owned three Foci, a 2002 SE sedan, and two 2005 ZX5, all 2.0L manual trannies. BTW I have a C170 2002 Focus wagon with the 1.6L 5spd as well and can say there is quite a bit of difference , with the C1 being my preferred choice. By far the C1 dynamics are miles ahead.
Big time happy that North America will finally be getting the global modified C1-C2 platform Focus, IMO it is the best C segment car on the road today.

I am sure the MKIII will again be the bench mark C segment car.

Always nice to hear from someone on the other side of the pond. Only thing I like about the olld C170 is that it is lighter then the C1 focus. Keeps getting closer and closer to 3000lbs, I hope they do something about the Mkiii and get it 2800 or lower. Anyway, i wish the focus was the bench mark for C segment cars here...unfortunatly that spot goes to cars like the honda civic. Hopefully the MKiii willl change all that.

The bench mark I speak of is in the eyes on the consumers...not reality lol.

PS just thought about this...what if the Focus is motor trends next car of the year. OMG that would be so freaking awesome and you know how much PR that would be for Ford. I'd be even happy if the Fiesta got it, but more happy if the Focus did. Hopefully would shut a lot of peoples mouths.
