Did you check the cam timing before you removed the timing belt?

You and your email remain anonymous untill you reply to some ones email. As long as you dont fall for one of those Nigerian scams you'll be fine.

Funny you mention that - I was at the salvage yard this weekend and came across two SOHC Focus' with engines still in them - blown of course, heads gone though, valve seats -#4 and #2.

I've only seen the left overs of a SOHC in salvage yards one other time and that was a block with a huge hole in #4 cylinder wall. A few days later the block was gone. Sleeving candidate I'm guessing.

The two engines this weekend had their cylinder walls fairly scraped and gouged up. Supply and demand must be coming together so those in need of a SOHC can be more discriminating. It was just a mater of time but I wouldn't be surprised it demand fell off for a bit longer only to pick up again when 'perfectly good' otherwise cars stopped getting scrapped because of the high priced $1400 - 100,000 mile engines that aren't running drop a few $100, at least.

The block casting numbers for the SOHC, SPI, VIN 'P' were:

11/99 YS4E-6015-DA cars up to and including 11/99
01/01 YS4E-6015-AD cars beginning in 12/99

I'm looking for a 'good' YS4E-6015-DA block but locally, as a spare back-up.
