stock steelies.

yo, i was wondering if anyone has run stock steelies? i really REALLY don't wanna buy another set of wheels and i still have my stock steelies for winter tires, and by the time the autox season comes the snow should be fine with my 17's & i could just switch my winter tires out..

is this okay? i'll probably be running 205/50/15s

Steelies will work OK. I ran them on my Jetta in 2007.

I ran stealies with stock tires half way through my first auto X season. I don't recommend them because or tire body roll. However with some desent tires on them I'm sure you can make it work. I would recommend though a 16X7 wheel with possibly a 225/40/16 tire. Less tire body roll and more traction.

damn. i was thinking that same exact thing. if i get a new wheel i'd like to get another set of 17s.. 16s are a lil cheaper but 17s look better imo. but which are better for the track?

You won't be competitive with steelies, but there's nothing wrong with running them. The focus is heavy and needs a wide tire to really be competitive.

They will flex more than alloy wheels but you shouldn't have any problems , you said you won't be putting r-comps on them. I ran steal wheels on my first autocrosser.
