^^ No, I was just estimating, I have a manual, no filter.

I'm very wary of lifetime filters, but it would be interesting if someone with an 08 would figure out if it's a replaceable filter or something new.

It's a 'lifetime' filter in the tank...my '09 has one too...
I can't wait to raise hell on my 30K at the dealer as I noticed the 15K is around $90 and 30K is $350 and according to the maintenance schedule the only difference between the two is the air filter. Must be all those add-on's......

At 30,000 miles, I had an oil change, fuel filter change, and ATX flush. The grand total - $257.18. Since you have a serviceable air filter, your cost would be a little more, but $44 for a new filter is obscene. Get a K&N replacement and drop it in there, and find a different dealership to do your work.

1st off, i would never take my car to that dealership ever!

get a manual...tranny filter, 5 qts of mercon v, 5qts of oil, oil filter, air filter..and you have a grand total of about maybe 80-100 bucks..

all you need is basic hand tools and rhino ramps...and about 3 hours of your time..

btw..i stay away from filters that need oiled..ie k&n..i know they trap more micro particles that get into the engine..blah, blah, blah..what they don't tell you is that it wrecks havoc on your maf sensor..oil gets on it from the oil filter...and your popping maf codes..

Fuel Filter $68.85
Trans Svc. $165

Total without coupons $307.90

where does $575.00 come from?????

Can you please check for me and see if the 08 Focus needs to have its tranny serviced and 30K. From my understanding in the service manual its says to inspect (I guess this means to check and adjust fluid level if needed) and nothing about servicing but can you please let me know I would truly appreciate it.
