I need BOOOOST!!!!!!
|
gah i was trying to go to sleep and i might have been out for 10 minutes and my sister calls and wakes me up. my brother in law backed over their puppy on the way to work this morning. lol i hated the menace anyway, and i told her that for waking me up.
suggested tire psi varies from tire to tire. my 00 ranger has mustang wheels on it and the tires suggest 52psi. the tires on my focus suggest 35 with a max of 50. most regular tires with average size sidewalls have a max suggested psi of around 30-35. rim tires are usually higher. i also had a senior moment earlier and would like to apologise for being arguementative (if thats even a word). lowering the psi to around 20-25 on rims might get a slightly better launch. might shave .05 seconds off your 60ft time. a common misconception is that the lower you can get the psi the better the tires will grip. this is true... on ice.

It does help to lower your tire pressure but not to the point where it will endanger your high speeds at the top end. I lower my street tires to 20 PSI and have been fine. But I also have a 40 tire rather than the 45 stock SVT tire. My tire is a harder tire vs the 45. for sure stock air pressure will not help launch.

I've set mine to 25psi in the front (don't care about the rear) and hooked real good out of the hole.

30 psi in the front and 35 psi in the back for the time in my sig.
But, if you're just going to run it once it doesn't matter at all cuz you're just going to stink up the place. EDIT: Just noticed the original post date. Why did this even get brought back up?
