Anyone know somebody in Austin for emmissions?

I need a hookup for a sticker in Austin. My readiness monitors will not become "ready" due to the evap canister. I got a ticket after a year and a half of skating by, and now I need to take care of this. Thanks!

If a licensed inspector puts an inspection sticker on your vehicle when it shouldn't pass, the fines can be in the thousands of dollars and jail time for the both of you. They would lose their license and probably their job too. So unless you can come up with the thousands of dollars needed to do this, it might be more cost effective and less hassle than just fixing the problem, i.e. doing it the right way. Keep in mind, you are making a public request for someone to commit fraud.

Yea, this definitely ... is not something anyone would want to promote or give info too ... Because like D.Boone stated ... it's illegal and the person in action would get a HUGE FINE ... not worth it.

So, Street Focus ... why not ask if there is a good mechanic in Austin that can give you some good help with out breaking the Bank and get the car in working order for a sticker.

Do you have a Wide Range of Warning lights on your dash?

Just keeping asking questions about the problems you have ... and I bet someone can help you get it fixed ... or point at the culprit.

It shouldn't be too hard to fix the things you need for inspection ... unless your engine just doesn't run right at all.

No, no. My car runs perfectly. It can pass the sniffer test. I have no CELs or warning lights coming on. It is just when you go to get it connected to the computer for inspection that the readiness monitors read "not ready". If anyone in the business knows how to LEGALLY correct this issue I would like the help. I have been asking on this forum about this for a long time with no results. The only thing I have been told is that the dealer has to do it. So my only option is going to be diagnostics and parts and labor all at a huge cost?

Tukani- the culprit is an evap canister or it's solenoid. Anyone who knows someone at a dealership let me know (Autozone said emissions parts are only available from a dealer). Thanks

A dealership quoted me 550.00 to replace the evap canister. This is outrageous to me. Anyone know a mechanic?

Just saw this thread. In Austin, You can have 1 NR and still pass, np. If You have more, just put 40-50 continuous miles on Her, that should reset everything, and You'll pass. Glad You got it done
