The Spec Focus parts list was carefully thought out by top notch rallyists for durability, function, and cost.
Actually a large portion of the parts for Spec Focus were picked because of sponsorship.
The Race Tech seats Belts are $$$ You can get FIA approved seats for much less.
DMS shocks are good but expensive as well and there are other cheaper brands as good.
They also don't allow hydraulic Handbrakes which are almost standard on any rally car.

If you are going for Spec Focus then by all means follow the guidelines. If not Get the general rally rules for NASA and Rally America.

I thought that because the RSF field was so tiny that they did away with specific sponsor model seats, harnesses, and suspension.

Checking back with NASA they have loosened up the rules but it is still quite restrictive. Especially in the suspension.

When I last talked to people in the RSF community, they said one might be able to apply for a waiver to run in RSF if the car was "close enough." It makes sense in that the closer to stock one runs (which would happen if you were saving money), the less of a chance that the car would be anywhere near competitive.

An RSF Zetec car with allowed mods and a tune for race gas can put out 160 whp, for example.

i would def incorporate some of the steeda focus cues, as i said before your scetch reminds me of it, and it looks badass, but for rally i really wouldnt worry about looks... more about suspension $$$

well i was thinking of making it more of a semi-rally car cause its my daily driver i will most likey get another Focus then make it in to a really rally car it would be a bit easyer that way i think. cause then if i get another 08 like i want given the time it would take to build the 1st car the 2nd will have more parts available when i start looking
