Well, that sucks. I've never done an acid bath before. My water spots usally come off when I wash and dry mine. Maybe the previous owner used poor quality paint on the hood? I can't think of any other reason.

There is no previous owner, we bought the car new. So it is factory paint. I dont get why it only did it to the hood, and not the rest of the car. My car had waterspots that were way beyond just washing off. As did my windows. I missed a little section and its still covered in spots, amazing difference between that and the smooth clear paint. The hood looks fine for now... we'll just have to see what happens.

That's why I always wash my car myself and by hand. I've only taken her through an automatic wash once.

Uhhhh this wasnt an automatic washer, I did it ALL myself. I work for a dealership that does detail work, and they have used this same method for a LONG time, and its NEVER done this to any car. Thats what nobody gets. Something must have spilled on my car at somepoint and weakened the paint or something... I dont know

I've acid wash countless of cars as a detailer and I've never herd or experienced anything like that on any hood.. The only things I can think of is either you acid washed it out in the open sun or you let the acid sit on to long.

My idle problem did turn out to be my throttle body, so I have a 67mm one in the mail from C-F-M!

I had to replace my battery yesterday. The stock one went bad over night somehow. Had to go wake Josh up at 5:30 that morning so he could help me out. Now that's two cases of beer that I owe him. BTW, Josh, wanna BS tonight over a couple cold ones?
