August 10th, Lime Rock Park...

SCDA...nearly two hours of road course track time on one of the most challenging little pieces of pavement you'll ever find! Will I be the lone 4 cylinder Ford again??

C'mon people, take a summer day off to enjoy the squeal of tires.

That stinks, but I guess I can live. I've been a one car circus act before, driving a Passat wagon that opened some eyes a few times. Gotta love it when you hear someone who is testing out a newly purchased IT prepared race car: "I got beat by a wagon?!?" The same results from bringing the Focus to the track would be a nice touch...but I'm much more about learning the car and just improving my mediocre driving abilities. Those humorous moments are gravy ;)

Quite a ways from you I would say:

Lime Rock Park, Lakeville CT

Great little high speed track, very challenging with NO conventional corners in the whole place. A driver's track in a small package...with a history that goes back to 1957.

i wasn't planning on this session, just wanted to know where it was. there are no tracks by me up here in the UP, just wanted to get an idea for when i'm done w/ school!!!

I have driven Gingerman Raceway in The Mitten...great, wide open track, very safe with nothing really to worry about slamming in to should anything go wrong. Fast corners, slow corners, even some elevation change even though it was an old farm or orchard or something. All sorts of groups run there. I highly recommend it.

The Gold Focus, no interior, 4pt autopower bar, Corbeau seat, Cams, header, intake exahaust, Koni adjustables and Ground Control coilovers, 225/50/15 Kuhmo R-compounds
turned a 1:10.
The Silver, Full interior, autopower 4 pt bar, exhaust, koni adjustables and progress springs, eibach sway bars, 205 kuhmo stickies
turned a 1:12.....Then went on a 500 mile weekend road trip the next weekend.

In my old 2000 Passat turbo wagon (stock everything except some fat Neuspeed sway bars, Kumho Victoracers) I was comfortably doing low 1:10's at an EMRA time trial a few years ago. I haven't been back with something as responsive (for a FWD car) as my SVT for awhile. FRPP Spec Focus suspension, Eibach 25mm rear sway bar, moderately aggressive alignment, Dunlop Direzza Star Specs, CFM HFC and Borla flex back exhaust...and four point Schroths...should do just fine. FWD cars usually are just not this much fun, even on the street ;) I do think I'm headed for making this a primary track day and time trial car, something like you have done, including the Autopower (nice price on those) and a seat. Next year...
