i had this same problem. when i would go to put it in 5th it would pop off. It will go on get some pliers and pull you center consel to get some room and you can get it on. that is what i had to do and now it works just fine. good luck man.

thanks for the tip I will have to try that out...it might take a good amount of force to get it in??

Thank you Thehubster!!!!! You were right on. I took out the console and the pliers worked perfectly. I was trying so hard to pop it in with my hands and couldn't do it and was worried I would break it. The pliers worked like a charm though

what if i only have the shifter but i dont have any spacer or new studs?, FAIL?

nice i may use this as a guide to remove my short throw and lube it up cause it just seems like it sticks while trying to shift gears

I just did mine, but i made it myself, using another stock SVT shifter. I cut 3" off, rethreaded it so the stock knob would screw back on, Oh lord is it amazing, It feels like a z06 shifter, its short and short throw, and the side to side, is defently less sloppy.

If you can follow pictures and text then your good. It probley took me 20 mins start to finish.
