got bored started work on the track car

some of you may know i picked up a honda awhile back. i had the day off today picked up a hood yesterday from a local guy because mines shot. figured i would have a little fun and use chalkboard paint on it so i could write my times down on the hood and compare with my co driver. so here are the pics enjoy

i got this idea off of a caliber forum awhile back and decided to run with it. the first thing going on the hood is a chalk body outline because the car was involved in that kind of accident about 5 years ago thats why the hood is shot. my fiance calls it a cursed car i call it a car with character.

Its drying in the garage right now and it looks awesome! I cant wait to start writing on it

those are probley the best choice for autox considering they weight like 1800 lbs

not a problem, its always fun seeing car parts take shape

Went from a beat up hood to a show hood in two days time. It will be fun to show the car and see little kids reactions when they see it

and hey, while were at the autocross, we can chalk up a few games of tic tac toe or hangman while were waiting being bored, lol

yup, and the car is gutted right now as well, all thats left is the two front seats and the dash, which will be coming out sooner or later

were planning on doing a mini-me swap, basically converting the non v-tec motor to a v-tec head, and wiring everything up and adding the v-tec computer to it, so should put out enough power for the track

its going to take a little while, but its going to be a very fun car to drive

curb of that car is 2055lbs with a full tank, right now its gutted and empty so i figured with gas it will be about 1900lbs and will have aprox 130whp when its done. so 1000lbs less than a focus with about the same whp should be a fun car when its built

I had to move the hood and get the horses out of the garage so my car could go in for the night, it might rain/hail tonight, so its not staying out

But i think it turned out great for how cheap it was to do everything

Now, we just need to get the car over here so i can get my hands on the rest of it
