Due to the slump in the economy, and the rate of unemployment(myself included).....it is not something affordable at the moment. If I can get my foot back in the door with another architecture firm, this project is the first thing to go down with the money ill be making lol.

Sorry folks, things are on hold for a while as money is tight and I'm also busy with school work. I have most all core parts and car just sitting in the garage but I'm most likely not going to even start building a chassis until after graduation (which is a few years off) so I have all engineering finalized and done correctly.

The political/economic situation isn't helping at all and is distracting from my school work enough as it is!!! I don't know what is going to happen with the money and job market so that is of more concern now more than anything.

In the mean time, I'll post up parts pictures and the stripped shell when I'm home in a few days so you can least visually see what is going into the project.

Regards,
Joe

Been there and back. I was one of the first to go. I hope you don't have a family (three very small children and a wife) to support like I did. That sucked. Good luck with the project - it seems really complex, but I guess that's the allure.

Single but a student. Can't imgaine doing this with a family, especially today!

I have a Car Domain you can check out here: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2625400 - Ignore the chassis work so far. I'm going to be building a chassis jig once I find a good set of I-beams and the car will be a tube frame with the panels attached. This will afford more design freedom and I feel just easier to work with.

After seeing the drivetrain of the Speed 6 that is the donor I would look for.

if you use the X-type transfer box, you need one from a 2002-2003 model year. They have viscous coupling. starting in '04 they went to an open box. the newer ones use dynamic stability control to apply brakes to slipping wheels, and make the others turn. If you have no DSC, you will sit and spin 1 wheel in the snow. the '02-'03 box doesn't need DSC to operate. If a salvage yard removes the box, make sure they dont pull its shaft all the way out durring removal. If they do, the circlip may tear the seal inside. then the trans oil and transferbox oil will mix, and leak out of the vent. the seal is not replaceable. (not through Jaguar parts anyway) The 2 boxes look alike and are interchangable.
