got my cosworth kit today, two questions, should I put loctite on the little bolt that holds the oil plug to the plate? and the 4 bolts that you remove from the balance shaft.. do those get put back in the holes after the bs is gone or just leave em out?

I'm sure there is a torque order, but just use common sense when tightening them up. Snug one bolt on one side of the pan, then snug one on the opposite side. Then tighten them all up.

Leave the 4 bolts out that held in the BS. I didn't use locktite. I used a lockwasher.

My ST holds 5.5 as well now, not the 6 that the instructions say.

sooo... i started this a few days ago.. it was going well until the head of one of the last oil pan bolts i was removing snapped off, turns out it was put in crooked.. so now i've gotta drill that out and re-tap the hole, also when i dropped the pan i found the oil pickup tube to be broken at the end.. yay, gotta order one of those now. The balance shaft is out though and the cossie kit is in. Just gotta sort out this other crap.

I'd say this oil pan has been off before...

i'm in Riverview, and i just got everything straightened out today, drilled out the old bolt, re-tapped the hole and replaced the pickup tube, it's all back together and on the road. A lil more responsive, i like it :) haha

Nope, Tony no longer drives a Focus. Don't think he ran after he installed.
