I got invited to go up to Lebanon Valley Dragway with a friend, ok, hes the janitor at my high school, but hes mad cool. Drives a civic hatch with around 250 hp, his dd, and a crx with i think around 400 hp. Hes going up with his friends to tune the crx now that he has a turbo. Il be going up with a neon, srt-4, the crx, and an s4. Now, what should i look for? Jay already told me to go on the last yellow, and launch around 1500 rpms. anything else i should look for on my first time? im just doing this run to get a baseline, and see how i improve with mods. uhh if you're racing a 2008 2.3l duratec focus manual tranny try dumping the clutch at about 3000 rpms and you should get a good launch if you're basically stock. have LSD launch at 3700. automatic tranny you shouldnt be on the strip with it because they pop

it depends on the vehicle and how easy it is to get it to spin wheels. some guys can launch at 5k rpms, others 1.5k.

go right after the last yellow. dont go right on it because youll redlight. ive redlighted once, but gotten many .002-.010 reaction times just waiting til i see the last yellow and going right after before the bottom turns green.

yes, you don't want to go on green, u'll have a slow reaction time then, i go about 1/2 way through the yellow, a little later after you get good at it!! try dumping the clutch as stated, then as you learn that, try slipping the clutch and so forth. but PLEASE don't expect to keep up w/ those guys!!! you will be sorely dissapointed!! lol just do it for urself!! i definitely wish i would have went to the strip when i was stock!!
