funky thumping from front end

so, i've had this problem that's been getting worse and worse. it started before i put the suspension in, but it seems to be getting worse now. the front end of the car has some weird vibrations going on. they don't make any sounds, but i can feel them mainly through my feet, especially my left foot when it's on the dead pedal. the vibration turns into a steady light thumping when in the corners. i thought it might be a torn CV boot, but everything looks OK. i did have the alignment done on the car after the install, so that probably isn't it (althugh the car does pull ever so slightly to the left, but you have to be going pretty fast to notice it). i even had the tires rotated and balnced yesterday to eliminate that possibility, but it's still there. here are some other things that might help with the diagnosis:

-the car has almost 20K and the stock firestones have almost had it. they're not bald, but i probably won't get more than another 5K out of them at this rate.

- when i put the suspension on, i lifted both sides of the front end at the same time. i noticed that the sway bar link on one side went in pretty darn easy, and the other took some "convincing" to get it in. basically i had to have one friend hold down the sway bar while i tried to stick the end link through the hole. he didn't push on it that hard, so i doubt he bent it, but it doesn't seem right that one side would be so easy and the other wouldn't.

i know some of the focii were prone to have wheel bearing issues, but i thought that mainly dealt with the ones in the back. anybody have any ideas?
