Heres another duratec question for auto. Up to what horsepower can a stock atx trans be taken without being compromised. Im thinking of getting the FS kit 1 but I do not want to do it if my stock atx cant handle it. would it be the same 220hp as mentioned in the first few posts. just wondering if their is a difference between duratec and zetec atx trans...

I dont know much about the autos... but if its the same one the Zetec uses you should be fine with the FS kit.

So when you put all this together what kinda price tag are you lookin at? And on what parts would you recommend spending the most money on? And How durable of a system is it? am i gonna need to be replacing parts monthly or what? I am new to the whole FI thing and was told to read this first.

Reliable is relative to tune and parts that you get. Price id say 4-5k if your doing the work yourself. I spent probably 4.5-5k for mine. Parts to spend the most money is turbo, clutch, tune, and probably wastegate. As long as you dont push your engine (zetec good for about 12psi) I dont see any problems with durability.
Anyone else got something to add/correct?

I did my setup for just around 2K. I'm running a cheap ass turbo that might fail on me, but hasn't yet. A lot of the stuff I have on there is used, and I shopped around to find good deals. I think if you are careful enough, you can build a system, install it yourself, and have someone else tune it for around 2-3K total.

We just bought an 09 se sedan, not thinking of boosting now but definatley in the future. Not looking for anything too drastic, maybe 250whp. Going into modding now, I was wondering if a 2.5" exhaust from tru bendz would be big enough for a turbo, and if there are any benefits to changing the stock cams in the 2.0 duratec. I plan on doing forged internals, probably after I get the turbo. Until then ill want to run anywhere between 8-10psi and possibly 16-18psi afterwards.

After the internals have been replaced, and lets say i do have a 3.0" exhaust, what becomes the week link in achieving that additional 50hp? I was looking at the FS kit. If all i have to do is twist a knob and retune than im gonna go for 300 =)

I would seriously consider a Torson or Quaife for the tranny... thats going to be the next weak link.
