Question About Breaking Parts

Well, I did a search and didn't come up with anything really. Is there anything on the SVT Focus, or I guess any Foci in general that tends to break as a result of autox? My buddy has a really badass CP thunderbird and he's been trying to convince me to take my daily driven SVTF out there. I would love to do it, but I just want to know if there are any known weak points on the car. Thanks guys.

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/O...-13_157386.htm

There's a video of his car in the first or second event after we were done building it.

Personnally, I don't there are any components that will break from autox specifically. Some stuff may see an increased amount of wear, and usage cycles.

So keep an eye on the wheel bearings, suspension components, and check your clutch master cyclinder (common SVT weak point).

You'll probably wear out some tires, too :D

I'll agree with all the above.
If you've done regular/scheduled maintenance to the car, have good brakes and tires, you're good to go.
Tires, brakes, and clutch (to a small degree) are about the only things that are going to see more wear than normal street driving.

The clutch caveat..If your TC is defeated with a tune, you have nothing to worry about.
If not, feathering the clutch (with non-defeated TC) to get a good launch will heat it up a bit.

But, in all fairness, there's really nothing to worry about.
The SVTF, even in stock condition is set up very well and will not hickup at anything you throw at it in an AutoCross.
So, get out there and enjoy the fun!!!

And, that's one of the nicest T-Birds I've seen in a long time.
AAA FTW!!!
Does your friend, or someone they know work there?

Thanks, we put a lot of hard work into it. As for AAA, he used to work there and they sponsored the car. He's working on getting somemore sponsors so he can eventually run American Iron in NASA. The car is an absolute blast, I will probably be doing some two driver events in it this season.

The car weighed in at around 3000 lbs (1000 lbs down from stock lol) He's running a 306 in it right now with trick flow heads and such, made around 300 hp and like 340 ft lbs tq. He wants to get a 351 in it at some point soon though I think.
