AUGUST RIDE OF THE MONTH(2004)
Member name: GREYSTEALTH Location: Texas Model: ZX3 Color: Liquid Grey ![]() Why he loves his Focus: "I use to have an f-150 truck back when foci first came out I'd see them everywhere. It was like love at first sight. I wasn't much of a trucker, I wanted to be lower to the ground and be unique from all other cars. I had to have one. I love the way my car rides. Best suspension in it's class in my opinion, plus the mods i've done to it. I also love the way it's built rock solid on the inside. I have no annoying squeeks and rattles, and panels comming off, unlike most other cars over time. I wouldn't change my car for the world." His future plans: "Include me paying the 7000$ I still owe on it, and hopefully when I'm done with that, turn it into a complete show car. Repaint it completely and install air ride. But until then I plan on redoing the front end here in the next few months, maybe an SVT or RS front bumper with a nice lip on it, and get some euro grills and headlights as well. Then i want to actaully start adding things to the engine compartment to make it a bit faster. Honestly though, I think this car will be an endless modification. I always see things to add or take off." Member name: S2 Location: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada Model: ZX3 (S2 Edition) Color: Liquid Grey ![]() Why he loves his Focus: "Alot of reasons, it's a fun car to drive. I always loved the car but especially after I got the Wings West kit and Eibach drop done. The car has an awesome stance. For a 4 cylinder, it's got alot of pickup and that only gets better as the performance mods keep rolling in. Haven't had any problems with the car, definitely the best car I've owned. Plus it being a limited edition model that makes it more unique." His future plans: "None as I have sold my car not to long ago and stepped up into a 2006 Volvo S40. Seriously miss the focus but it was time to move on and will be missed always." NOVEMBER RIDE OF THE MONTH(2004)
Member name: ZX3TUNR Location: Canada Model: ZX3 Color: Liquid Grey ![]() Why he loves his Focus: "I origionally hated the focus to be quite honest. I was your typical/ignorant high school honda/import kid. Finally it came the time to buy a car and I no one would give me a loan excpet for Ford so I had no choice but to go with a 2002 Focus SE. After about having the car for a few months I started learn more about the car and got into the modding scene. Sadly the SE got totaled. I then had a chance to start over. I had my options open. I now have good credit status and a way better job. I chose to stick with the Focus but went to a ZX3 witch I will never regret. From day one I loved this car. The options for this car are mind blowing and even to the point there is so much to do to it, its hard to know where to start. I also love the fact its so different. Focis8nt and my self go out to the drag strips, car shows and the people that ask about the car. "What kind of car is that?", "Never seen anything like that." "Thats one hell of a car you got". LOL I love it. Specially when you see the old guys staring at it and scratching his head. LOL The Focus really grew on me. I seriously get into arguments as soon as I here some body start trashing the Focus." His future plans: "Right now I am working on my custom dash peices and re painting everything to CD silver. Also working on my custom hatch install for the stereo. I also have a plan for doing some type of boost, racing seats, and one day scissor doors. Its hard to say. Im always changing my mind about doing things. Or the thing that I usually end up doing is buying a bunch of stuff then putting it on the car and then changing my mind. My goal is to make one sick focus. This project is going to keep going. Once the boost is done I plan on getting a 2nd zetec and building it up. From there let the fun begin. Once day I will have my scissor doors too. What else is there to do? I well soon be maxing out on the stock internals then what? Build up the engine and crank up the boost ;) Buy another focus? We will have to see "MODIFICATIONS EXTERIOR: Focus RS/Collection front bumper with Hella Magic Module signals ICC Tuning RS replica side skirts 98 euro Focus rear bumper ST170 front grille Focus RS/Collection spoiler e-code Hella projector headlights Hella Magic Module tail lights Limmo window tinting Audiovox alarm with pager JTAutostyle Scissor Door Conversion INTERIOR: Custom painted interior Varad ultra white neons under the dash Ractive short shifter AutoMeter Oil Guage AutoMeter A/F Guage AutoMeter Boost Gauge custom center dash piece I.C.E: Alpine DV-300 deck Rockford 400S amp to power Alpine Type R tweets/components (not installed yet) one 12" Alpine Type R sub powered with an Alpine V12 MRD-M301 (not installed yet) SNES PERFORMANCE: Magnaflow cat back exhaust FS 4-1 Race header FS flex pipe ProCharger supercharger 10PSI FC 65mm TB SVT MAF 1 step colder plugs AZFS22C VF rear motor mount Diablo Revolution custom ECU ENGINE DRESS-UP: Custom painted valve cover SUSPENSION: Sprint Performance 2" progressive drop spring WHEELS, TIRES & BRAKES: 18x8 Team Dynamic rims in Monza style equipped with Conti Extreme Sport Contacts 215/35/18 MISC.:

I like to drive cars that you won't see on every corner. That is why my first Focus was Mandarin Copper and a Sedan. Everytime I would see one I would go "ewww" or "that's one ugly car". When I lost my previous car in a fire, I needed to replace it with something cheap. At first I wanted a Honda Civic. Then I started looking at Ford Focus's. I went to a dealership in the area and test drove one; I was in love! I couldn't wait to get one. I got my baby on March 13, 2003 and have been loving it ever since day one. The modding bug hit me about 10 days after I drove it in my driveway. Hasn't stopped since. I love how this car has made me so many new friends and I love going to G2G's! Big thanks to a former member on here for all his hard work and Ray @ McNews Automotive for tuning 'Lil' Red'." MARCH RIDE OF THE MONTH(2005)
Member Name: W~PHOENIX~{RC} Location: Mount Vernon, Iowa Model: SE (Sedan ATX w/Zetec) Color: CD Silver Why He Loves His Focus: "I enjoy my Focus for numerous reasons. I really like how the car looks. It's definintely something different to see out on the road, especially a modified Foci. I really like the fact that I've done every modification on my vehicle to date myself and that's something that I'm proud of. Before I bought my Focus in October of 2003 I never really had any interest in modifying vehicles, but now I'm a proud owner and Focus enthusiast. I've learned very much about how vehicles work and how I can manipulate things to get better performance and what-not. It's been an excellent experience so far and I plan to keep at it." His Future Plans: "I have a very big list of future modifications that I'd like to do. I'm going to look into getting many more performance parts. I think I'll add a Quaife Differential, [Upgrade Transmission, Valve Body, and Torque Converter via Lentech Automatics or McNews Automotive]. I'd like to get a turbo sometime in the future, so when I'm picking out my performance parts, I need to be careful because I'd need them to be compatible with a turbo setup. I'd like to have the SVT Brake Swap and some sort of custom Moon Roof. I will be working on a custom subwoofer enclosure, upgrade the interior lighting, get a few more dress up components for the engine bay and interior, as well as a few more exterior cosmetic upgrades." APRIL RIDE OF THE MONTH(2005)
Member name: FORDESIGNER Location: Midwest Model: ZX3 Color: Malibu Blue Why he loves his Focus: "The Focus was picked out by my daughters. I was going to get a GT convertable. But getting the Focus and not paying high insurance or payments has meant I can have much more fun. I have learned a lot about the Focus's suspension and engine and have grown quite fond of them. Needless to say, this Focus has become one of the favorite cars I have ever owned. I have owned a 1968 Olds Cutless with a 455 cid, dual quad Offy intake manifold with dual 630 Holleys.... And I would choose the Focus over it any day of the week. I also feel it's a much more complete vehicle next to the Mustang. This coming from a designer that has worked on the last two generations of Mustangs. SN95 and S197, including Cobras." His future plans: "Future plans include transmission work. Lots of it. MAY RIDE OF THE MONTH(2005)
Member name: GOAT ROPER Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin Model: ZTS (Centennial Edition) Color: Pitch Black ![]() Why he loves his Focus: "I have always been a fan of taking four-door cars and making them into they really weren't intended to be, fast. Goes all the back to my first car, a 1977 Dodge Monaco (the "duct-tape mobile") where I did nothing but put a glass pack on it I had sniped from my fathers pick-up to what I have now, my 2003 ZTS that has almost every bolt-on you can find. So why exactly do I love my Focus? The "Centennial Edition" being all black combined with the dark tint really make the car stand out I believe. Handling is superb, even more so than stock with the Eibachs and 18" Enkei's. The power I am getting out of my little normally aspirated 2.0L Zetec is outstanding, mainly thanks to Karl @ Massive Speed System, J.T. @ Extreme Parts and of course Randy @ Focus Sport for his superb tunes on my SCT." His future plans: "I think FordDesigner said it best last month when he won ROTM, "transmission work, lots of it". Later on this month the stock clutch will be voted off the island with either the Centerforce or Spec clutch. While I have that tore apart a lightweight flywheel might as well be put in as well. A Torsen or Quaife along with the 4.06 gears may make an appearance yet this summer. The remainder of my engine mounts that need to be replaced will occur before July, replaced by the VF's. Long term, I have to decide which fork in the road I want to take since I am running out of things to do, build up on mean N/A engine or go PowerWorks. In all reality I want to hit the magical 100 HP per liter while staying N/A, if for nothing else than my own selfish need to do it "MODIFICATIONS: EXTERIOR: Grillcraft lower grill (replaces hoaky one vehicle came with) Custom upper grill (meshed factory grill) ENGINE DRESS-UP: Ford Racing engine cover Painted engine bay pieces INTERIOR: Focus Central Short-Throw A-pillar gauge pod I.C.E.: PERFORMANCE: Focus Sport ported cylinder head Kent Stage 3 cams Focus Sport UDPs Focus Sport Cool-Flo CAI Focus Sport SCT Focus Central Cam Gears 2000 ported intake Focus Central 4-2-1 Race Header Custom 3" Exhaust Focus Central 65 mm Throttle Body Screamin' Demon Coil Pack LW/Denso wires/plugs Centerforce Clutch Fidanza Flywheel All VF mounts 70 MM MAF 30# injectors SUSPENSION: Eibach Sportlines 2" drop Focus Central Strut Bar WHEELS, TIRES & BRAKES: Enkei RS-5 18" wheels MISC.:
