For people who have done the lunchbox mod,
how different does it sound?
is it legal to do in wisconsin?
does it do any harm to your car?

I have done it and it isn't crazy loud but it adds a nice tone to your car. It doesn't harm a thing. Just changes the sound. Hold on a bit and I will dig up my exhaust vid so you can listen to it.

And the popping on the deceleration only happens when the car is cold. Once it warms up you never hear it again. And when it is gear it doesn't make the pops either. I say go for it!

And not to sure if it is legal in Wisconsin. You would have to look it up and see if flex pipes can be used. If flex pipes are not then you can use some regular piping but that will cost more.

I did a bunch of cheap mods this summer......this picture shows three. A seat cover from Advanced Auto $19. A floor mat from Home depot $2 ea. And a custom sill plate from Home Depot made out of a rubber stair tread $2 per door.

Wow those seat covers look nice... which ones were they at advance auto?

Well for me it was pretty simple. The easiest way to do it would be to get one of these, doesn't have to be that one but a reciporcating saw. Then you will cut off the box. I reused the stock tip, so I had to cut that off as well. You can buy a new tip if you want but I didn't. It is really easy and only took me about 30mins. If you don't have one of the saw, it will take longer cause you will need to use a metal manual saw. With the resonator(lunchbox) gone, you will slide the flexpipe over the stock exhaust and clamp it. Make sure you buy the 2" flex pipe kit, that is the size that fits. If you need anything else, just ask.

From the looks of this, if I am reading it right, I think it is illegal...but I am not too sure. Hope it helps.

Scroll down, and there is a catagory labeled exhaust. Then it says something about flex pipes.
