I'm not even going to attempt to polish my own, they're so yellowed and hazy I can't even see inside of them.

On the right track
The process described by the original poster is the same as described in a how-to in Popular Mechanics last month or the month before.
I plan on doing the same. My HIDs look like pretty scratched up...

OK so did the lights have after the lamin-x was added or did it stay clear? I'm about to do this myself.

Hey Guys, I'm new to the forum, and just bought an 01 focus ZX3, and the lights were a little cloudy. I bought meguiar's Plastx Polish, and it may not be perfect, but in 5 minutes I had them looking like new. We tried it also on my girlfriends escort, they were so yellowed she couldn't pass inspection, when we used it, the shop couldn't believe how clear they were, and they were going to charge her over 40 bucks to clean them.

I agree soupfllakes...If you don't have a polisher/buffer, a mother power ball polishing tool (24 bucks) and your drill/screwdriver will do the trick...Now if you have a polisher then a light polish/swirl remover and white pad...Also don't wax over since it tends to yellowish plastic, I suggest sealing them to extend the finish...
