tires for autocross

hey All.

done a few events now and decided its time to get better boots for my car. (Focus SVT)

done some research and got down to 2

Falken Azensis RT-615 or Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 StarSpec.

just can't make the final decision, any thoughts anyone?

don't use the car as a daily driver so not worried about wear..

thanks

Mike

Dunlops are faster, Falkens are cheaper.

The Dunlops will be a bit easier to drive at the limit--the Falkens have more of an 'edge' that once you cross, are hard to reel back.

Not at all. They tolerate heat better than Falkens or Bridgestones. I love them.

i know that a soft tire is good for traction. i would ask you if you know who makes a soft tire that will last a while. i am talking like up to a year before i have to replace them after driving on them every day. just curious. thanks.

I've used both tires and the Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 StarSpec's are faster and they handle heat better than the Falken Azensis RT-615's.

Current prices for each tire:
Falken Azensis RT-615 - $106 from EdgeRacing.com
Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 StarSpec - $123 from TireRack.com

The Falken's are a great tire, but I would get the Dunlop's again.
