Just finished this up. And let me tell you, Royal Purple + CFM STS + Counterweight Delete + All 3 VF Poly Mounts = GREAT Shifting. Once again, great writeup.

Nice tutorial. For some reason mine took less than 2.1 quarts. When i stuck my finger in the fill hole it checked out just below the fill hole.

Whatever you prefer to use...Royal Purple is generally considered the best, and I mean it's expensive but this isn't something you're going to be doing once every few months so IMO it's worth spending the extra money on the high quality fluid, but again, your choice!

Thanks S2, hope it helps!

Thank you for this!!

My car has been sitting for months untill I picked it up last week. This is def something I will be doing this weekend!

Quick question.. When draining.. how big of a container will I need? I have 5gallon buckets laying around, but I also have an old kitty liter box that might work well for this..

Thanks!

Wow, I should do this! (Just need to get some ramps or somethin'...)

But what's this about leaving "a slight bit of fluid in the case" when draining? And, to do so, do you then pop the drain plug back in before it's done (like, before flow gets to a trickle)? It kinda looks like you'd have to use a siphon to get it ALL out, anyway...
