it had to be an srt-8 jeep grand cherokee. no 5.7 hemi that new is gonna be running any faster than a low 9 second et in the 1/8. especially in a suv that heavy.

did it look like this?

if so the reason you lost was because of this

425hp 6.1 liter hemi

It's ALL about practice. I was really sad when i took my stock SVT at the time to our local drag strip...didn't beat one car but it was my first time actually dragging. hopefully this summer it'll be a better story!

Keep modding and practicing!
that jeep will most likely eat you in the twisties as well. its AWD.

the srt-8 ones are fast. we're talking 13 sec 1/4 mile time. Last time i was at Sonoma Race way in Cali.. a dealer showed up with one...the guy was wearing his suit and had dealer plates. He lined up and blasted off running 13 sec. He then got kicked out because he wasnt wearing a helmet....the guy just shrug his shoulders and said he didn't know it was that fast lol.

My brother in law has an SRT-4, and it is one sick ride. Only mod is an intake and boost controller..he runs low 13's (race gas and slicks). Only problem with those cars is there is a lot of tire spin off the line, but it'll throw you back in your seat.

care to elaborate? you think your car could out lap an AWD 425hp cherokee? no matter how much better you think your car will corner than this jeep, which it probobly will but i dont think it would be like you think it would, he would blow by you at the first straight away and you would never be able to catch back up.

Brutal performance, smart transmission, powerful brakes, fantastic front seats, sport sedan handling.

Keeping the speed in check are four-piston Brembo calipers and massive 14.2-inch front and 13.8-inch rear discs with standard ABS and BrakeAssist technology. The Brembos lived up to their lofty reputation. Our SRT8 needed just 120 feet to stop from 60 mph, and the binders showed absolutely no fade in four successive panic stops from that speed. Pedal feel and modulation are excellent.

A heavyweight with middleweight moves
More than just a straight-line runner, the 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 handles the curves like a sport sedan. Among the handling enhancements are Bilstein shocks and beefy stabilizer bars for the independent front and live-axle rear suspension. A front strut tower brace adds stiffness to the chassis as well as additional street cred.

im telling you these things are wolves in sheeps clothing. dont mess with one.

Hmmmm...for such a mighty truck, I'm having trouble trying to find some honest slalom speeds and times.
