Attaining maximum camber with factory setup

Anyone running in h-stock who has gotten a lot of camber out of their setup with stock bolts - any tips and tricks, please advise....

Also, someone mentioned crash bolts that are smaller than factory and can help increase camber? Any knowledge of this - They would have to be a ford part and have a part no to be legal in h-stock...

Just curious what y'all do!

Thanks!

I think what the dear Reverend is trying to explain is that interpretation of the SCCA rules vary by section.

You will have a very difficult time proving to an official, with or without documentation, that the camber bolts are considered by Ford to be an OEM part/correction for an existing performance issue.

The root of it is that the camber bolts improve over stock vs. correct a design flaw.

http://www.steedafocus.com/store/Sus...201/index.html

basically i've ordered the steeda bolts and i want more camber while remaining within FSP (ie, i cant get the SPC control arms).

Here's what the rule book says:
Quote:
13. STOCK CATEGORY
Alternate parts listed in a factory parts manual are not authorized
unless their use is specifically referenced in the factory service
manual or in a service bulletin for the specific model.
See Sections 3.8 and 8.3.1 for documentation requirements.
And
Quote:
13.8 SUSPENSION
E. If authorized by the manufacturer, the use of shims, special bolts,
removal of material to enlarge mounting holes, and similar
methods are allowed and the resulting alignment settings are
permitted even if outside the normal specification or range of
specifications recommended by the manufacturer. If enlarging
mounting holes is specifically authorized but no material removal
limits are specified, material removal is restricted to the
amount necessary to achieve the maximum factory alignment
specification.
As WeeAsp noted, and what I was trying to say, is you will need the documentation to prove
that those bolts are an authorized (by the manufacturer-Ford) repair or service to your particular model car.

I guess the next question, is how strict your Region is as far as following the rule book.
Nationals will definitely require all the proper documentation.
But, local events will more than likely not worry, unless you're exceptionally faster than the rest of your class.
At that point...you'll get bumped.

yes, but im not trying to be Stock legal, im looking for FSP and as such

Quote:
15.8 SUSPENSION
Vehicles may only exceed the allowances of 13.8 as specified herein.

F. The following allowances apply to strut-type suspensions: Adjustable
camber plates may be installed at the top of the strut,
and the original upper mounting holes may be slotted.

G. Camber bolts may be installed, providing these parts use the
original, unmodified mounting points. Caster changes resulting
from the use of camber bolts are permitted.
so, has anyone used these crash bolts to be able to tell me where on the rear suspension they are used?

^^^I was responding to the OP, since he's wanting to stay in HS.

I too am curious about those rear suspension parts.
I always thought they were just another camber bolt like SPC etc,
but that's way too many parts to just be replacing the upper control arm bolt.

Lauzon,

as far as i know, there is no documentation allowing for the use of the crash bolts or camber bolts in a stock classed focus.
This is my opinion after reading hte forums, I have not activly pursued looking for this documentation.
