Dang, a Focus meet in NC?? Wow! haha. I wish I could come to this one but I'm gonna have to wait until next time. And this might be a stupid question, but isn't it a little cold to have a cookout in Febuary in NC?

Consider it like the "polar bear club" Seriously though, Yeah, it might be a little cold, but that's why we have a back-up in case the weather isn't friendly enough. With NC being a little dead, we wanted to try and see if we could build some momentum towards more meets and more involvement here. We know not everyone will be able to attend, but we're hoping it will spur others to become more active and will lead to more G2G's in other places in the coming months. So keep watching, hopefully we'll be "coming to a town near you".

Cool! I'll put you down for the baked beans. We'll figure out how much to bring after we make sure that everyone who will be attending replies. After we get commitments on the sides, we'll see who wants to bring any of the condiments.

Ummm........good question. I just said chips as a general statement, but you're right, there's a lot of different chips. Does anyone have any preferences? For example: Lays, Ruffles, Doritos, Cheetos, etc.,

Personally, I like Krunchers kettle cooked chips, Lays sour cream and onion, or Doritos. I also like some good salt & vinegar chips once in a while, but the wife hates 'em.

OK guys, it's the official two-week notice! It's really starting to come together, so let's not loose momentum!

Red01Focus, you said you'd bring chips, so I'll put you down for it. As far as what kinds, I'll leave that to you. I would say try to get an assortment such as: Ruffles, Doritos, and maybe some tortilla chips.

Of the sides that we listed, that only leaves Potato Salad. Does anyone want to volunteer to bring that?

I'm still waiting to see if anyone else signs up, but with the event coming up soon, I'm going to make a cutoff for signing up as the 26th. This way, those that have commited to bring something will know how much to get and will give them a week to procure it.

Along with the condiments, we also need to remember that we'll need basic placesettings. We'll need to have the following:

Paper plates
Plastic cups
Napkins
Plastic silverware
Trash bags (for the cleanup)

We also probably need someone to bring a cooler full of ice for the drinks, and some charcoal for the grill (I believe you said there are grills there, right Rabbit?)

All this planning seems a little tedious I know, but I just want to make sure we don't forget anything and that this G2G goes off without a hitch. I hope this will be beginning of some cool meets this year.
