We never had a problem yet with the stock axles.

The black turbo focus has stock suspension. I am sure suspension, wider bigger drag slicks, and traction bar would help reduce the 60 foot time.
Cool, my bad. I only saw the times I posted... I even looked on FJ too trying to find it.

I say great. I only saw the 1.94 posted and he corrected me. I'm not trying to start a fight here, so why are you provoking me? I'm trying to get things in this thread back on track.

LOL... this I completely agree with.

Dont you think somethings wrong where there are alot of other Foci out there with just as much power or more NOT having this issue? Wise the up and take the help and get over your "were the fastest or making the most power: ego trip your on.
Whoa hold on, I'm not trying to be a dipshit about anything. Like I said above, I'm trying to get this thread back on track. It was quickly becoming a pissing contest about who has more experience, and I'm trying to get back to the stock axles. I always read the posts by you, Tom, AND Eric alike with the full knowledge that you all know what you've been doing. Make love, not e-war.

So back on topic, I'm not dismissing the fact that many many people have been running their stock axles with lots of power, but I'm also not dismissing the fact that Dominic did break his, twice.

ok all, back on topic... the mines bigger than yours crap is getting old quick. and the attacks on each other are over.
everyone builds a car the way they want it, not how someone else thinks it should be built (unless your building it for someone), and uses it how they want to.
If it strays again it won't for too long.

Tom, I agree.... the chances of breaking one set off axles is rare but two pairs in a row seems really odd.

So... are there any pics of the damaged axles or even one of the tranny with the broken parts still on it?

I'm glad this discussion has brought someone else in that actually takes a Focus to drag strip and launches it the right way. However, it looks like all of that tire spin has saved your axles and hindered your 60ft times. What 60fts are you hoping to achieve in the Turbo Focus?

After 6 pages worth of responses I think its pretty clear why he has broken axles and no one else has. So far no one can bring up another Focus that has pulled a 60ft better than the first pass ever in his car. That pass was on low boost, drag radials with 20psi (not even slicks), no burnout, and the FIRST pass in the car. The suspension in Dominic's car is not stock like the CFM turbo car. His car has a completely one off rear suspension designed specifically for Drag Racing and quite a few tricks done to the front suspension. Thats what makes it hook so well. No power is being wasted by the rear squatting, motor mounts flexing etc. Who else has done that?

At this point I think the only way to prove the stock axles can take much more abuse would be for someone to at least 60ft better than 1.801. Care to take one of your turbo cars back to the track on a real tire Tom? Come up to one of the Ford Races at Englishtown or Atco next season...

Odd? I think the answer can be found in basic common sense. If you can break a part, but replace it with the same part. What do you think is going to happen?

I didn't take any photos as we were more concerned about getting the car home and fixed. The broken parts were traded in as cores for replacement axles and when the replacement axle broke it went right back for another replacement to get the car home. I admit that I do regret not taking any after seeing this thread blow up like it has, but at the time I thought breaking axles when drag racing was a common occurrence especially when dragging a FWD car. I didn't realize that no one was really pushing the Focus at the track to be a street strip car.

If you wanna see a set of broken stock axles then send us a set. We'll happily break them for you and if they don't break we'll buy them from you...

Why do you keep trying to start a pissing contest ? Have fun good by !

Like I said 60 foot are least important if you cant get a timed run , when you get to 10.95@137 on DOT then ill look in here again

For me its not that I dont like drag racing its the only close track I wouldnt run my tractor on it... its total crap. The closest descent track is 100 miles away... so I just never got around to running it.
