What part broke? The axle portion, or the CV? Also, was this a freshly built engine, and it broke on its second pass ever, or has it been dragged before with this built engine?

1turbofocus,
Whats going on? You were so quick to reply to my first post and claim lack of "common sence". Now that I answered your questions and asked you a question you are now MIA for days. I can't help but think you are avoiding my question. I would also love to hear some specs on this 700hp Focus. Is this 700fhp or whp? What kind of transmission are you running? How long has it survived with stock axles? Are you leaving under boost? (Assuming its turbo) and whats the best 60ft? Well I hope you find the time to answer my questions... |

From what I remember the SVT did a best of mid 1.90`s and the ZX3 did a best on high 2.0`s both on BFG G-Force drag radials I dont take my engine much past about 2800 to 3000 to launch a little common sence has to be used anything can be tore up and broken, I have been to well over 50 Fun Ford Weekends and seen many 300+HP Foci in the Focus class and never not one time was there a broken axle as well as have built over 100 300HP+ cars with out any breaking axles to date in the last 7 years Tom

My ZX3 has one of my built Focus-Power engines and a custom built Lentech ATX with trans break and Man valve body has made about 75 450HP + passes on the Factory axles , about 300 300 to 450HP passes on the same and about 9 600+ passes on the all stock factory axles The axles in the Focus both ATX and ZX3 are made the same with the same parts length is the biggest Diff but only by an inch or so , the SVT is the same with a Diff spline going into the Trans from what I remember Tom

I'm willing to guess that the tires had more to do with it than anything else. Dominic runs with drag tires and two-step pulling 1.8 60' times. It sounds like a WRC car pulling off the line. To me, this is a test that puts the axle through its paces. The vast, vast majority of people with built Focuses are running street tires and don't launch that hard, so I think it's safe to say that our axles haven't broken because we just don't push them that hard.

What RPM is he launching at ? If its something like 4500+ and he twangs his foot off of it then even if he fixes the axle issue he wont be able to keep a MTX in it , I have seen many MTX Trans broken at the track
Tom
