IF YOU READ THE TITLE OF THE THREAD! Short throw, that word alone should not be in the same paragraph as auto. Now i said piontless about it being a shortthrow not that it looks like sh-t or anything like that, it looks fine and if i had a auto i might do the same . HERE YA GO GUYS AND LADIES , IM GOING TO SAY IT ......... IT LOOKS GREEEEEAAAAAAAAAT! NOW SHUT UP AND EAT YOUR FREEKIN FROSTED FLAKES.

Yeah, there is one thing I've noticed when I auto-x and it's that when you try to put it into 2nd it's really awkward and sometimes will slide up to D, I imagine if the thing were shorter and less cumbersome it would be easier to bump it up just one notch.

I was reading through all these old-ass posts waiting for someone to mention this...I can't believe it took so long. I also could'nt believe how many posts there were talking about "improving the automatic shift speed". "I can shift from P to D alot quicker now!"

wow, i can't believe how much bs people bickered about on this thread in 2004 and i hope it doesn't start again in 2007.

the mod, as stated by the OP, is a cosmetic one. Period. And it looks better than stock. If i had an auto i would do this mod because of its looks.
you can also change the PRND21 piece for a manual shift boot, and IMO it looks better as well. I wouldn't, however, try to make people think that the car is a MTX if it isn't. ATX and MTX each have their own merits.

Honestly, when I go out racing, I brag about the fact that my car is an ATX

im sick of all the trash talking about people with autos trying to make our shifters look like manuals. Its not that deep down inside we secretly wish we could use our left legs and roll around at red lights, we just got stuck with ugly ass stock shifters and want to change that. Cosmetic, plain and simple.

If this guy is right then i guess the SVT focus is not a sports car. I think we all have focuses cause in a way they can be sports cars with the right mods so everyone that does not have a Svt went out a got focuses models s , se , ses and so on so they can do what they want to make it there own sport car. o sh---t that lil man is driving a manual!

I want to agree with you to an extent but I will say this. They are sporty. But they are not sports cars. There is a fine line between the two that I will say very few Focus owners have crossed in my opinion. You can drop a V8 in a Yugo, and it's still a Yugo.

It's fun making the Focus go fast, but I prefer to be realistic. The Focus and SVTf are great performers for their class, but it's no Lotus.

couldnt have said it better myself. Theres also that fine line between loving your car because you've worked on it and thinking your car is the best thing on 4 wheels.
