My very first time to the track.....got a rude awakening

Bone stock I cut a 2.2 60' with 38 psi in stock tires. Aslo, one thing that helps is when second staging light tuirns out, start release clutch pedal a hold just before it clutch start to enage, then when light turns the clutch pedal is already were it needs to be.

ive been readin the tips and everything, trying to get the focus to be the best off the line, and taking advice from people who have done it before....you raised your pressure in the tires to get that 60' time? did you raise just the front, or the rear as well?? and my other question is, every time i had heard someone talking about changing tire pressure it was to lower it, but your 60' time is a little lower than ive ran with the stock 29psi. dont have the slips in front of me but i think i was doin between 2.3-2.6 in my 6 runs i took the other night running stock pressure.

and as far as shifting timing goes, my 60' times are right down there, but i havent found the best place my SVT grabs thru the gears at down the track...any adivce?? thanks

I didn't raise them, the weekend before I was at road course and forgot to lower my tire pressure. To get best 60 time you kind of have to ride clutch a bit for best 60', like I'd launch around for and let it slip to take off quick but not spin to much. Also I would shift right before rev limiter and just shift quick as possible.

yeah..the one thing i dislike about the SVT is the lag off of the line...hopefully now that ive gone full time for the summer and am out of school, the FC 65mm TB will be installed....

What I found for R/Ts is to go when the either 2nd or last yellow bulb is starting to turn off. By the time you let out the clutch and hit the gas, the green will be up, and you'll cut closer to .500s (on a 500 tree). But you have to be careful not to do it too soon or you'll red-light.

But work on that 60' first.

My last trip at the track killed me i wanted to just sell my car. I ran a 15.8 with a $1000 more in mods then i did last year running the same time

Yeah I go to new england dragway in epping nh, where if your opponent has a required helmet on be prepared to be owned lol, but I'm going again this friday the 28th, but I might be there late, like around 7 or 730.....hopefully I will do better......I usually go up on fridays with a few friends....lemme know when your gonna go the next time, aim= focused617 email= mizz617@tmail.com

ill probably be goin again this weekend friday insetad of weds cause im tight for cash, but ill get a hold of you somehow and we should see if we can get lined up together or somethin ... itd be nice to finally be lined up next to something that isnt turboed or supercharged or motor swap
