I should add that this thread wasn't started to debate the safety of an airbag delete, only to show how to install one if you so choose, I promise I'm not the first person to install an airbag delete, and I certainly didn't invent them, I had fairly innocent intentions when i wrote this thread

1.) I know this is funny, but remember to take them OUT before a demolition derby. We almost ran with them in one night . The airrbag cars are starting to get used.

LOL!! I would have loved to see some ass in a crash derby with the air bags still in LOL

and hey I would take a 4 point seat belt over air bags anyday, a hold down restraint is waaay better than a soft impact (BS on the soft) restraint anyday

i want the delete kit because it looks cool.
i am a crininal justice major and we did the studies of seat belts and air bags and they both do more damnage than they do good. but i still wear my seat belt and every one in my car wheres on but air bags don't help you any unless you are with out a seat belt. i am not going to go through the window because Uh duhh i wear my seat belt and i am not going any where. Plus i look where i am going the only crash i was in was the dumb lady's fault and there was no was i could have stoped her. she was right next to me and just came right over becasue she needed to swithc lanes with no turn signal

Karate, if you need one, the only place I know of is out of Europe, but they are pretty cheap, even with shipping, they are like $12.55USD plus shipping, http://www.european-parts.net/catalo...products_id=82

Legally, you're required to wear your seatbelt in most states, and I think you need side mirrors for legal reasons(I'm unsure of that).

As far as airbags, those are optional. So why don't you take a deep breath, relax, and enjoy that this guy did our community a favor by doing a right up.

You don't have to agree with it, but you don't have to flame a guy for something he did to his own property, unless you've make the decision to pick up his car payments and insurance, if you have, then flame away

If not, let a man enjoy modding his car.

Me, personally, I prefer to put bricks in front of the airbags to ensure the job gets done.

Yeah, I've removed it before, a ratcheting wrench is the key to the job.

yeah, that was a real useful post.. anywaaays..

i was in one bad accident where the whole front end of the car was smashed in..AND THE AIRBAGS DIDN'T GO OFF!!
i was also in the passenger seat when my sister hydroplaned a car and went up on a road divide. the front airbags went off, but the seat belt tensioners were good enough that neither of us hit the airbags. my point: airbags are sometimes good, but they are not perfect. my 2000 zx3 came with no ABS.. should i charge Ford with mansLaughter if my bad braking gets someone in my car killed. I know how to use my brakes. Plus EVERYONE in my car will wear seatbelts, no exceptions, even in the back seat. That is my rule. Period.

If you want to keep your airbags, fine. But don't mess with the guy that takes them off to save weight, or for whatever other reason.. it's his right to take them out, and it was a good how-to. as for the "take of your mirrors" analogy--hell, i'm not even getting into that one...

when the money permits, my zx3 will be equipped with good supportive seats, properly installed 4 point harnesses, a good steering wheel, and no airbags. i'm glad new cars come with airbags. i'm also glad that i can take them out of My car.
