Seriously, just step out of your comfort box and go. The other people there will also be "car guys" and will welcome you even if you are the only Focus there. Leave your ego at home, tell them you are new (they were all new once), ask questions (car guys just love to give advice) and have a good time. Just like the Nike commercial says: Just do it!

I'm interested in giving it a try too but I'm in the same boat. Not that I'm scared to go alone but I'm bound to have more fun and learn more if I go with someone else I know. But I also have the added fact that with my mods I'd be in a class that I wouldn't stand a chance of actually competing with lol

But anyway I think Oct 21 me and a friend from Boca are thinking about hitting up an event @ Sebring. Here is a link to the flyer event flyer. If you're interested in going let me know maybe we can meet up

just go and have fun! you'll meet great people and have a great time, regardless of classing. The first few times, who cares if you win, you're really only competing against your self. If you can run faster every time, that's a really good day.

Where about in central florida are you guys? I attend auto-xs in St. Petersburg and at the Brooksville airport. Let me know if you are intrested in attending and I will give you the details on how to sign up. I was the only focus at the last one I attended and got quite a few compliments on my SVT Focus! Trust me if you go alone they will make you feel welcome and will be more than glad to help you out, give you pointers and even let you ride along with someone before you drive yourself, just so you're comfterble giving it a try. Hell someone will even ride with you in your car if you ask and point you in the right direction. Trust me theres nothing to be afraid of they are always willing to help out a noob.
