Check and see if your camera is set to "landscape". It appears things in the background are more focused than the foreground. Just a thought, but a great write up and something I'll do when I get my new gauges.

What does everyone think if a Red LED was used in place of Blue? Would it be too dark with the black text?

I'm doing this with a red LED, mostly because I don't care if I can read my odometer at night. I'll post pics when I do and let you know how it turns out

trust me zx505focus, it will work. just get the bulb size i listed in my write up and u'll b fine. it's 74 led bulb. and my camera is a european knock off wannabe, but ima get a better camera soon. sorry for the bluriness.

you can find the bulbs on ebay pretty cheap as well and in lots of colors

and all led bulbs r bright as hell so it, so it wont blend in the darkness of the lettering, u'll b able to c it. plus u have ur instrument cluster dimmer on the side so u can always use dat.

yeh you can. but for non-ebay users there's vleds.com. they pretty much have all the popular, common colors available including white.

I just got my 2 bulbs.

I tried taking apart the gauge cluster, and I saw that I need 3 bulbs, so I'm short one, plus they aren't too bright. Ordering 4 of the high powered ones.

Just to let everyone know:
My 2005 MTX PZEV ZX3 without a tach needs 3 bulbs, not 1
