As far as your wheel hop issue, try getting the motor mounts for you car. Helps out a lot on the zetecs.

Full boost should be achieved at around 3500-4000 RPM. A smaller turbo would yield faster boost but less HP.

I figured I'd hit full boost much lower, perhaps as low as 2k rpm.
Maybe the Tbird guys will chime in here.
Taking until ~4k rpm to get 10psi indicates something isn't right. This would be fine for a GT3071R, but not the tiny T-bird IHI.

I suspect you have a leak, possibly at the WG. If so, you're losing a great deal of turbo efficiency.

I'll be performing a pressure test on my IC piping soon, and I'm also looking for a new wastegate actuator.
It takes longer than 4k to hit full boost.. more like 6k, so I know there's an issue.
I'll keep everybody updated on what I find.

I'm also looking into a wideband, probalby the Innovate LC-1.

The Innovate LC-1 is an excellent, accurate wideband O2. It's what I use, all I use.

The easiest means of pressure testing the intake system is right at the mouth of the turbo, using an appropriately sized silicone coupler and PVC pipe cap, with a quick connect fitting screwed into the cap. With a bit of compressed air and a slow twist of the regulator, it's easy to hear any leaks whistling.

If you're losing that much pressure, you'll most definitely notice a difference when you get it resolved. With that turbo, you should be getting full boost by ~3k rpm.

Nice, thanks for the pic.
A buddy of mine with an EVO has done this before, so I'm going to bum his and see if it will fit my turbo inlet elbow.

A setup like this is a bit easier to handle because it requires no hands. It allows you to slowly raise the pressure from zero to full without needing to keep a hand pressed onto a schrader valve.
