Tips for dragging?

Just curious.... any tips for dragging with an auto?

overdrive on or off? (why?)

run standard 87 or 92 octane fuel? use octane booster or no?

My father told me to run 92 with an octane booster cause it is more combustible... He also told me to power break on the line and when it hits green just let off the break... itll help with my launch. He also told me to leave it in 1st and shift around 6K rpms to 2nd then again into D...

what do u guys think about it?

Run premium, it can't hurt. Forget the octane booster, it won't help. Some of the stuff that used to be available was pretty good, but whats on the shelf these days is almost useless.

Overdrive? OFF, and don't shift it yet, just let the car do it for now.

The launch? Dad is right on with holding the brake on and loading against it a little. The light? You will think this odd, but trust me. DON"T wait to see the green, you WILL be late. There are 3 yellows. When you see the light start to come on in the third yellow bulb, LEAVE now. By the time the car moves it will be green.

Have fun and let us know how it goes. Its easy and fun, and you will make improvements. Go have a blast!

If you have several runs that night at the track. Try it once when you see the green, and then try it my way. It will amaze you how much better it is... I didn't invent this one, the serious drag racers told me about it. It works.

The race, hmmm, seems like it will come down to the drivers if they are both automatics.
