Double Checking AutoX Classification

The Cooper S is G-stock, the regular ol' Cooper is H-stock, and both are currently understood to own their respective classes. There's some talk, apparently, of moving some or all years of the Cooper S to D-Stock, which as a G-stock driver, would be fine by me

A recent article that I read said that beefing up the front bar is more beneficial as it allows the car to put the power on the ground more effectively.

i think this statement is valid only for RWD cars. for FWD a stiff FSB will lessen the traction of the inside wheel when exiting a corner which will light up the 1 tire fire. I read a really good article on it, but am too lazy to look for it right now.


also, i wanted to add for the OP that he should get DOT approved R-compound tires if he wants to be competative in stock class. I ran kuhmo V710 (205/50R15) on a set of stock 15" wheels. if he is not interested in R comp tires, maybe he should just keep his mods on and run STS (similar pax) and then he would be free to do some extra mods ( like suspension) without getting bumped up again.
for a stock FWD car with no RSB, you might consider removing the FSB or putting in a small one (ie. SPI bar) to gove the front tires more grip and to give a little extra rotaion in the corners
