14's possible in a lightly modded SVT?

MightyMouse, You've got a point, but it's also fair to point out that my time was on a 100% stock SVT. I hadn't even take out the air-box snorkle or deleted the lunch-box resonator.

Again, the point of this thread is this; can a mildly modified SVT run 14's? Not every SVT and not every driver can, but some will.

SVT could be a good drag car if it had enough power to get off the line in first. Often times I find myself flooring it at stoplights while letting the clutch out and STILL having a hard time getting power to make it past 2000 RPMs. It's just not geared right in first gear. With a closer ratio gearbox I'm sure you could break 14's..think about power to weight..2700 pounds and 170+ horsepower? That should be powerful enough to get you in the 14's...but it's not. I blame the GETRAG!

if your stock svt euro ran 15.3 then i know a bolt on svt is capable of 14's. mine is a 5 door so it was a little slower. props on the good timeslips.

some will, some won't. there are too many variables. every car is different, even if it's the same model. then you have different parts of the US with different elevations, with different drivers on different tracks. i've heard of stock quarter mile times from a 14.9 all the way up to low 16s.

I don't think it's answered yet! I don't think it's possible lol. The only way its possible is if the quarter mile is on a slight downhill.
