Yes sir, hes right the K20 is a beast
He's talking about autocrossing.. NOT drag racing...

In a drag race, yes you will lose. In an Autocross it's a different story, b/c an autocross is 90% driver, and 10% car. If you know how to turn your car and follow the right lines you'll do well...

i would agree. and do you drive anSVT because if you do there are several diferent road tests that put the SVT over the SI. Some of them are older and it may be that the newer Si is faster. but if you are autoxing then it will all be on you and very little on the car. hold that road and take a good line and you should do pretty well. have fun.

The SVTF will beat the last gen Si, I've ran in to a couple and never had a problem. The new Si, though is supposed to be a beast. There was one at the track Wed. night when me and some Foci guys went and it ran a 15.5 and 16.0. The 15.5 matched the time a kid did in his SVT. I think the guy in the Si was a bad driver though, seems like it should hit low 15's easy with that kind of power.

I'll tell you....I just lost my 02 SVTF w/tom's tune, Borla, SSR rims, Short shift, suspension. My son totalled it two weeks ago...thank God he is okay. I wanted another SVTF but couldn't find one locally or one in as good a shape as mine. I test drove a Cobalt SS, WRX, used STi, and various other cars and happened to come up on an 06 Si and after driving it, I fell in love with it...many of the things I liked about my SVTF..N/A, handling, etc. made me want the Si and I'll tell you...not proud to say it...but my 06 Si is a lot better overall car then my SVTF was...it's also 4 years newer...but it handles better, is quicker, the shifter is the best I've driven...even friends with Foci who drive my Si can't believe how good it is and want one...

The last generation Si (160hp) was not much competition to the SVTF but, the new Si is a completely different beast...as for auto-x, I haven't had an opportunity to auto-x my Si but everything points to it being a great auto-xer..the new Si even comes with a stock Helical LSD....

A pic of my SVTF in it's glory...

The accident...

They ain't that fast. The way they are geared they don't revv out very much. On the freeway in 5th gear (of 5 gears) I was going 70 and damn near 4000 RPMs. That's about the same as my SVT before I go into 6th gear. If I kept my car in 5th gear on the freeway I would burn a 2000 SI. From a dig, they have shorter gearing so they get through the gears quicker...but they are no faster than an SVT. Stock for stock it would be close. With some minor modifications the SVT should burn it. I really wasn't that impressed by the SI I drove. It was an '04 too.

If SVT was still around and making foci's, I'll gurantee you that It will Destroy the new gen SI's. Think ST220-

Nonetheless i'll take a black Si with all the options .
