"How To" - SVTF Header Wrap

I have a Built small block Corvette that I run at Autocross, and high speed track events. I wraped my hedders over 7 years ago and they have never shown any signs of rust. Wet the material 1st it is alot easier.
I did not wrap the hedder on the SVT, I did wrap the C.A.I. tube, and it is cool to the touch, prior in the summer I could not touch the tube.

This may sound like a stupid question but if you soak the header wrap do you have to wait for it to dry before painting it?

I would recommend waiting for it to dry. Wetting wet paint dilutes it.

I'm wondering... purely for "Buahzow!" factor... are headers worth sand blasting? I'm just looking for an excuse to use a sand blaster... heehee...

In regards to this write-up, would sand blasting it then doing the wrap assist in the health of the headers anymore than simply wrapping them?
