attempted this tonight and...
nut got stripped on the cat so, I didn't bother taking anything off. The header nuts were fine but, figured I'd try the harder nuts first... Looks like I'll try again later on next week when I have more time

Nice write up, good pics, and good add-on advice. I'll be giving this a shot too.
Is this header ford came up with a nice piece or what! It's hard to believe that it' OEM.

The picture displayed is for an uncoated header. I believe the coated header doesn't have the heat shield mounts. The coated header also has a good looking sheen, not as bright as chrome.

It runs around $160 or so to jey coat a header, I wrap my down pipe (past the oil pan) with 2" wide woven copper wrap for less than $50.
