Oil and Cabin Filter Confusion

No, I did not accidently put the cabin air filter where the oil filter goes...

OIL FILTERS
OK, did my research on the research here and other places, and there seems to be only 3-4 oil filters that are designed for the Zetec DOHC - a Fram PH8316, a Supertech 8316, Motorcraft FL-2005, and another I forget. I know others fit, and that is another argument.

Well, when I took the factory filter off my new 04 SVTF it had a Motorcraft FL-801??? What the heck is that? Seems to me the Supertech is closest to exact match of the FL-801, followed by the Motorcraft FL-2005, and the Fram just seems different (shorter, lighter). Fram did write me back and ensure me it met all the specifications for the Zetec DOHC required by Ford (AD, etc).

Sooooooo, what is the right filter? Anybody got the definitive word from SVT?

AIR CABIN FILTER
Went to Ford yesterday. The HP-41 HEPA cabin air filter is $52 I passed. They also could not tell me if removing the cowl required a new buytl strip to be required.

So does anyone know if the K&N or Purolator filters ($18 at partsamerica.com) are HEPA?

Same here,
My 02 SVT requires the fl-400-s. If you check your owners manual it will give you the part number for your car in the maintainance chapter.
Hope this helps:)

Cabin filter is available at NAPA for about $14. Pretty easy to install.

fram has come under heat lately. I would be safe and buy a motorcraft filter. Made by Ford.. for your Ford. And cheaper than fram.. at walmart anyways

There are 2 cabin air filters, one is FP-38 this is just a pollen filter, the other is FP-41 its a particle and odor filter designed to filter odors from the engine bay, this is why it is more expensive.
