Auto-X event
Ok guys, i missed the G2G with Wayne Saturday and cant stand that i did. So, i ran the idea by my manager of having a G2G/auto-x event here in Charlotte. Were thinking of having it right outside the Lowes motor speedway in this huge parking lot where the state police hold their driving courses. Theres access to just about anything where this is located (Hooters, Quaker Steak & Lube, etc) and would be a perfect setup for a auto-X event. I would need help with the planning of the event but may be able to get the dealership to sponser at least part of this. It will depend on what the possible turn-out would be. I need honest answers as to how many of you would be interested in an event like this at or near the end of August. Please let me know on here or PM if you want to come.

Good luck getting that site without the backing of a sanctioning body like SCCA. They charge $ out the butt.

Without a sanctioning organization and insurance, I think its going to be tuff to secure a location. I know some auto-x clubs have used the go-kart track inside Lowes Motor Speedway for auto-x events.
Here's a link to a website that can help you find clubs and events near you. I would contact a few of these clubs and they should be able tell you everything you need to know about putting on an auto-x event. You might consider jumping onto an existing event for this year. Its not inside the speedway, its outside in a parkinglot across the street from Lowes Motor Speedway. They use it regularly for Police traing because its so big. I have someone checking out what it will take as we speak. Thanks for the advise though. The insurance has been brought up at work.

^^I realize that...I was talking about the go-kart track just to throw out another venue option in case the parking lot didn't workout.
