AEM Cold Air Intake & FC Throttle Body.. restrictive pipe?
Currently I have a FC Throttle Body and 3" Aluminum intake turn to my thottle body and a AEM Filter. Thats 3" all the way no restrictions.
I am wondering if the change to CAI would actually loose power do to the difference in inner diameter with the CAI & the throttle body? I measured approx 2 3/4 id on the aem and a little over 3" ID on the throttle body. I also have a FC Raim Air Hood which supplies fresh air to my home made setup. SO intake temps will probly be the same either way. What do you guys think? Thanks! -Rick

i dont think so. As long as the transition is smooth it shouldnt negatively affect performance. you just dont want air turbulance.
perhaps the change increases the velocity of the moving air?
