Spy Shots of 2007 Focus . . . Ford still too dumb to bring the Euro

After sinking more money into another useless redesign of the front end, we're still getting shafted because they feel the need to be fat lazy and stupid another few years

========================================
The Ford Focus will get an updated front end for the 2007 model year, but thatís it. Americans will not get the superior European model, as many enthusiasts had hoped. As evidenced by a recent spy photo taken by KGP Photography, the Focus will get a new grille (and possibly new headlights), but for the most part it will remain unchanged.

Spied!

A rash of prototype sightings around the streets of Detroit suggests that Ford is preparing a new face for the Focus. Judging by the horizontal grille bars and slim angular headlights residing behind the camouflage, it appears that a Fusion-inspired face may be in the cards for the next freshening of the Focus.

Many enthusiast magazines have urged Ford to inject some new life into its U.S. fleet by replacing our warmed-over first-generation Focus with the European model.

However, the European market Focus went up-market with its last redesign and Ford has already confirmed it will not be coming here due to cost related to using the C1 platform.

Whether Ford can keep Focus sales steady by tweaking the design to match the new Ford family look remains to be seen. It faces some pretty challenging competition, the redesigned Honda Civic and Mazda3 are tough acts to keep up with when you are getting old in platform years, watch out Ford!

Looks like they just grafted the Fusion front end on it, and called it a day.

What baffles me is why make two versions at all? I mean, wouldn't it be cheaper to make one version and sell it in both places?! No wonder they're just about bankrupt. One or the other boys - quit burning cash building two models that just as well could be one....

(edit) Retards...

I not asking for the Euro platform, but why not use the Masda 3 platform. The 3 and Euro platforms are different right?

zzzzzzzzz...

Wake me when they start to give a damn about what their 'loyal' customers actually want to buy.
