SVT tire size question
Any issues with going to a 215/50/17? Any clearance issues with the fenders when hitting bumps or anything like that?

They're going to be well over an inch bigger in diameter. That could cause clearance issues especially if the car is lowered or if you want to lower it. You should be looking for a tire that is as close to 24.1 inches in diameter as possible. A few tenths either side of this is not a problem. Wheel width and offset are critical issues as well. It's the package.... not individual components that works!

It has just the stock SVT suspension on it and don't plan to change the ride height anytime soon

Don't forget that the new tire size will also change your speedo. When your traveling at 60mph you will actually be going 62.1mph.

SVTF stock diameter is 24.6"... Regardless, 215/50 would be a tad tall at almost 25.5". I run 205/55/16 (24.9") on 16X7's (45mm offset) in the winter with no problems, but it's very close. If you're really set on that size, you might have a shop mount one up, and check for issues. Though, IMHO, that's just too much. Not only the aforementioned speedometer error, but you're also going to lose a significant amount of acceleration out of the hole with that tall of a tire. Here's a good tire size calculator if you want to check some numbers: http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp And, here's another one for checking different offset wheels: http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

ended staying with the stock size and got some yokohama's. Much less road noise so far with these than the stock conti's

I Run 215 50 17s lowered and they hit on bumps, reciently bought the car and who ever had it before lowered it and started modding it.....I defenantly want to get the Spgs and Wheels back to OE. The Ride is way to harsh. not sure who made the springs but there hard ...currently trying to trade them out for OE sized springs and would like OE rims and tires as well the 17s are nice but this car is a commuter for me. 80504 area
