So who would win?

Someone from school IM'd me today, telling me his 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer OZ Rally edition could beat my Focus. You guys tell me.

His mods: CAI, up/down pipe, "evo engine tweak", aftermarket fuel pump (?!?)
My mods: CAI, Xcal 2 tune from Wayne

Both are 5spd. I have no idea what an evo engine tweak is, and why he would get an aftermarket fuel pump without any boost..? He's telling me he could walk away from me easily.. I beg to differ.

What the hell is an up pipe? Is it just like an ORP?

not too sure of his mods and what gains he may have gotten but I'm guessing the tweak was a tune and the pipe might be some sort of exhaust...with that in mind it would prolly be a driver's race unless his has the 2.4 liter which is likely...if he does then he'd prolly beat you but not "walk you". At least my opinion.

If it is the 2.0 , it only has 130 horse. They are pretty slow cars. All show and no go. You should win the race... no problem. A guy at my work has a yellow OZ 2.0 5 speed. He has a cold air intake and a rice can in the back. And I beat him with my stock 05 ZX3 5 speed. Mine is also the SE with the sport package. So with your mods I would say he is in trouble......!

agreed...it would be a close race. Just go give him a run, what could it hurt? Everyone gets served sometime....and you may just serve him.

I say go for it.... with the amount of money you guys have probably spent on your cars, pride isn't a major issue. You can win, just dont [:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)]* up! LOL

If you really want to make sure that you can whoop him, do what every great racer has done throughout history, CHEAT! LOL.

Good luck buddy!

$300 bolt-on turbo? Sounds cheap, but who knows. I was thinking turbo when I saw the up/down pipe (down tube?), but that was a mod sort of overlooked when mentioned. You'd think it would be rather important to mention?

If anything, you have the better looking car, so don't be upset even if you possibly lose. You'll always look cooler!
