Talking Yayyy! I'm the regional GS Champion...

Hey guys.

I added up all the points from this season, and realized that I will be getting the G Stock 1st place trophy tomorrow night at the awards banquet. I am just tickled about it, and thought I'd share my minor achievement with you guys. Of course, it really helped that I was the most consistent, showing up at every event and never getting lower than 3rd. I think it works out right, though, seeing as 3 of the other guys have R-comps and I am still on street tires.

What actually made me most proud was the last event, where although I got beat by 3 seconds by a well driven 2005 MCS on slicks and Konis, I still beat quite a few of the Modified, Street Prepared, and even Prepared cars. And I don't know how you guys feel about the PAX index, but on the index I was only 2.79 seconds behind Chuck Hemmingson. Chuck Hemmingson is a professional Subaru racer, and this year's T2 Champion. If you get Sportscar magazine, that's him leading in his STi on the cover. So after Pax, on a close-to-a-minute track, I was less than 3 seconds behind a national champion on R-comps who was driving his T2 championship winning car, with me bone stock and on street tires. Yay for me!!!

BTW, Subaru actually gave him that STi he won with. Poor bastard, racing all over the country in a free STi, and then having to come back to a successful high-end garage business...

Results

Aaaa... now to bask in the glow of my minor accomplishment and feed my starving ego...

Sweetness!
Congratulations!
I do believe all your hard work and training paid off this year.

Our Region's results aren't quite finalized, but I know I'm 1st in class.
It's overall points I'm unsure of.
There's a 3 way tie for 2nd at the moment....and I'm one of the 3.

Congrats! Quit downplaying it to a "minor" accomplishment, that's awesome.
