I know that Rota makes some lightweight wheels..the rota slipstreams in particular are very light. I believe the 15" are 12lbs and the 16" are 13lbs-14lbs....these are just estimates though.

No, the stock SVT wheels would not be considered "light weight", and Rota makes good light weight wheels............

I think the SVT wheels are average for a 17x7 wheel. A light weight wheel is anything under 18 lbs for a 17" wheel, IMO.
Rota's are very light (subzeros as well as slipstreams and grids..)
another good brand is team dynamics and centerline wheels.

Will the rota slipstreams fit our cars properly? I think I saw that the offset on those was 40mm, while the recommended offset for our cars is 42mm-49mm.

If you have a big drop (more the 1.5") you may need fender rolling to make the slipstreams fit w/ 215 rubber, but it wont be too bad.
i know someone running rota grids (same specs as the slipstreams) with 225 rubber on them and he didnt have much rubbing (though he did have race springs and koni's).
