Depends somewhat on if they are originally painted or if they are powdercoated? Sandblasting them will work ok on painted rims but I believe a chemical process is used for best removal of powdercoating. Don't know what the asking price is but by the time you pay for the rims, sandblast or whatever then paint or powdercoat them you may be close to spending the same amount of money you would if you just buy new. Better yet with new you can get the polished lip and the color of your choice.

I have done this before not to hard if they are painted on, you just sand, prime, paint and clear if you want to, for the powdercoating you will have a go a different route i would call and ask your local powdercoating shop.

I painted all my wheels (10 total) for my rally car. I was only trying to make them look better and didn't take a lot of time prepping them (knowing full well that they were going to get beaten to death). I found that epoxy appliance spray paint worked really well. It was cheap and put on a finish that didn't chip as easy as car paint does. Follow instructions carefully as you have to add the second coat within a specific time frame.
