Exclamation Help, broken header bolt!!!

Well guys and gals, this is the best week of my life! Well, maybe its the exact opposite. I was just putting back on my shorty headers because I was sent the wrong long tube headers, and what do you know!!!!!! I was tightening one of the top header bolts and pop!! I broke a damn header bolt!! I am so damn frustrated right now. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get the damn thing out? I really dont want to take it to the dealership to have it worked on but if I absolutely have to, then thats what I'll do! PLEASE HELP!!!

By the way, the bolts arent all the way recessed into the head. You can still see like two threads outside the thread, but its not enough to grasp with plyers.

snap on and mac maybe sears have a reverse bit to help tap and reverse it out you drill a small hole in center and screw the reverse bit into it and turn it out with the provided screw/ bolt. good luck... iam beng serious here, good luck.

What you need is generically called a "screw extractor", more commonly known by the brand name "EZ-OUT". Jetbill described it above.

If you work on cars long enough, you will eventually need several of these.

BTW, to prevent this from happening again when you remove the bolt, always use anti-seize on header and exhaust bolts.

the problem with what you guys are talking about is that you have to remember, with focus headers, there is absolutely no room for anything to fit down there.. your hands barely fit

True enough. So he may have to remove the headers again. Stuff happens when you're wrenching.
